The database still has the original deleted dataset rows. VS2005 - using detailsview to update, insert and delete rows from SQL 2005 database.
Adding rows works, then updating works fine, but deleting rows, does not seem to work. Delete and insert work but update does not Using VS 2005 Details View to insert, delete, and update rows in SQL 2005 database. I recieve no errors and the details View comes back unchanged (as well as table row is unchanged).
How can I get the value of the next new record in my Access table so I can feed it to my in-memory datatable's new record ID Wei Zhou - MSFT Hi Eebel Have you set the autoincrement column properties correctly The following snippet is a sample which illustrates how to do with autoincrement column.
Hi, Let me try to define the situation; In the page i have a grid and save button I have a Data Table named "dt" and a Table Adapter named "ta" in my website project I have a Dataset named "Data Set1" in my App_Code folder as VS2005 suggested. Hello jeroenm; Thanks for your reply Yes i have checked the status and they are correct I got no error when executing the code No statement is sent to database when Update and Delete, but correct statement sent in case of Insert, as can be seen from profiler Have you tried to explicit cause a failure to see that the Update Command/Delete Command is executed?
Update(Data Table);" line and saw that the deleted or updated records were just fine within the Datatable dt; So i think i have a problem in my Table Adapter that it just inserts records but does not update or delete records I have checked my Update Command and Delete Command but they seem just fine Urgent help is needed :) Hello ygulsen, Have you checked the status (deleted, modified, added) of the rows in the datatable? Do you get an error message when executing the code? This should you give an error message about the table name. The way the architecture works with the Data Adapter is that you can make any changes you want to the filled Data Set, and it won't affect the database until you call the Update method. When Update is called, the Data Adapter will attempt to execute each query (UPDATE, INSERT, DELETE) on every row of the Data Set that has been updated, inserted, and deleted. The parameters that the cmd Delete Frames takes, I did not specify the Sql DBType. [Code] // state the SPROC input name, it's type and size and the column from the data Grid View it is coming from cmd Delete Frames. The problem I have is if the underlying Access database's next ID number is not sequential, I get a concurrency error.
